On August 1, 2022 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with a member of the State Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Wang Yi, who is in Tajikistan with an official visit.
During the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, the implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries during the meeting on the sidelines of the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing in February 2022, regional security issues, the state and prospects of bilateral interactions. The ministers also exchanged views on topical regional and international issues, cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations, in particular the UN, the SCO, as well as within the framework of the Central Asia + China format.
At the meeting, it was agreed that the parties will continue to strengthen cooperation in the political, economic and investment, transport, agricultural and health sectors, as well as in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the end of the meeting, the Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China for 2023-2024 was signed.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and China participated in the opening ceremony of the Tajikistan and China Center of experience and professional education and training of specialists – the workshop “Liu Bang” as well as in the ceremony of the official allocation by the Chinese side of 5 million doses of vaccines against Covid-19.
