On August 28, 2020 a phone call between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Muzaffar Huseinzoda and the Netherlands’ Vice-Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Ms. Kitty van der Heijden took place.
During the conversation, the current situation and prospects of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the Netherlands in various fields, including political, economic and humanitarian, as well as future joint activities at the bilateral and international levels were discussed. In this regard, the importance of organizing bilateral meetings and holding a business forum with the participation of representatives of leading agricultural companies and business circles of the two countries after the stabilization of the situation related to the pandemic was emphasized.
The parties also exchanged views on collaboration between the two countries within the framework of international and regional organizations as well as the UN and European Union and stressed the need to further expand the links. In this context, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation in the framework of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” and reiterated their readiness to continue joint work on the successful organization of the UN Conference on the Midterm Comprehensive Review of the Implementation of the International Decade for Action, “Water for Sustainable Development,” 2018- 2028”, which is scheduled for March 22-24, 2023 in New York.
