Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with the chiefs of the Representative of JICA Tajikistan Office

 

On September 28, 2020, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin received the former Chief Representative of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Hideki Tanabe and its new Chief Mr.Takasaku Muneo.

During the meeting, the sides touched upon the issues of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Japan within the framework of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and discussed the implementation of current joint projects on technical assistance in the field of economy, education, health care and social sphere of the country. Cooperation between the two countries in the fight against Covid-19 was also noted.

It was highlighted that the Government of Japan makes an invaluable contribution to the training of specialists of our country through the Japan Assistance Program (JDS) for Human Resource Development Scholarships.

The Tajik side proposed to expand cooperation in the field of agriculture and take steps to create joint ventures for the processing of a herbal plants and the development of this industry in the country.

At the end of the meeting, Foreign Minister of Tajikistan expressed his thanks to the former Chief of the Agency, Mr. Hideki Tanabe for the fruitful cooperation and constant support provided in the implementation of Japanese grant projects, and wished the new Chief success in his future work in Tajikistan.
