On December 7-8, 2022, at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris of the French Republic, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the National Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan for UNESCO Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin takes part at the UN-Water Summit on Groundwater.
The Summit was inaugurated by the Chair of the UN-Water Mr. Gilbert Houngbo, after which the floor was given to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During his speech, Mr. Muhriddin informed about the international initiatives of Tajikistan on water related issues, the results of the Second Dushanbe Conference on the Decade of Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, which was held in June this year as part of the “Dushanbe Water Process”, as well as on the preparations for the UN Water Conference in 2023.
It should be noted that more than 3700 representatives of countries and organizations around the world, including over 120 high-level speakers are participating in this Summit and its side events.
