On February 21, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Russian Federation Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda met with the Deputy Chairmen of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev and Nikolai Zhuravlev.
At the meeting, the sides noted the importance of inter-parliamentary ties, which are traditionally developing in the spirit of friendship and strategic partnership between the two states, and also considered a wide range of topical issues of Tajik-Russian cooperation in the fields of economy, healthcare, education and science, culture, labor migration and interregional collaboration.
The parties discussed the issues concerning of the upcoming official visit of the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko to Dushanbe, to be held February 24-25 this year. Confidence was expressed that this visit would give a new impetus to the development of relations between the two countries in all key areas of cooperation.
