Partnership Platform Tajikistan-OSCE

 

On October 15, 2020, the third meeting of the Partnership Platform between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) was held in a virtual format.

The Tajik delegation was headed by Mr. Muzaffar Huseinzoda, the Deputy Foreign Minister, and the OSCE delegation was led by Ms. Tuula Yrjola, the Officer-in-Charge (Acting) – OSCE Secretary General.

The parties considered the OSCE’s activities in the country within the three dimensions of cooperation: political-military, economic-environmental and human.

In his speech, the Deputy Foreign Minister noted: “A such instrument of cooperation and dialogue between the host country and the Organization with the participation of a wide range of experts and representatives of relevant ministries and agencies is a unique in the OSCE area. This meeting will allow us to conduct a comprehensive review of bilateral cooperation through the development of joint projects in the three dimensions of the Organization.”.

In turn, the OSCE Acting Secretary General stressed the importance of the Partnership Platform, even in the difficult circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, to continue close and practical cooperation between the OSCE and Tajikistan. She thanked the OSCE Program Office for the steps taken in such an environment to coordinate its activities in support of Tajikistan. The Acting Secretary General also expressed her gratitude for the role of Tajikistan in developing strong regional cooperation and strengthening stability in the region. She also noted the activities of the OSCE Border Management Staff College in Dushanbe.
